What is ConnectionBoost?
- When calling out with ConnectionBoost enabled, you are assigned a number for each call that matches the area code of the lead you are contacting. This makes you appear as a local caller while protecting your own Kixie numbers from being flagged as spam.
- ConnectionBoost is most useful for first-touch outbound calls, where the lead recognizing your specific number matters less than getting the call answered.
Shared Number Pool
- Local presence numbers come from a shared pool that all ConnectionBoost users draw on. Other users' activity can therefore affect those numbers' reputation, and some may get flagged as spam.
- Because the numbers are shared, you can't register them individually with spam-protection services the way you can with a number you own.
Alternatives
- A private pool of numbers: if you would rather not share local numbers with other accounts, ask your Account Manager about a private pool reserved for your account. That gives you control over their reputation because only your calls affect it.
- Free Caller Registry: If appearing as spam is your main concern, you can turn ConnectionBoost off and register your own Kixie numbers with the Free Caller Registry. This can help clear a number that has been wrongly flagged. Register at freecallerregistry.com.
Important: The Free Caller Registry is an independent third party, unaffiliated with Kixie. Several carriers use its data, and customers have had numbers unflagged after registering.
If one of your own Kixie numbers is showing as spam, see Showing Up as Spam Likely or Scam Likely, which covers what to do about it.
