Setting up Salesforce for Kixie

Integration Requirements: at least the Salesforce Professional edition with API integration

integration Setup Steps:

1. Task Field: Type: Make Visible to Kixie (don't skip!)

  • Click the Setup icon for your Salesforce
  • Search for Field Accessibility, and click on it
  • Scroll down the list and click on Task
  • Click on View By Fields
  • Choose Type from the drop-down
  • Now do the next step for each profile type that uses Kixie...
    • Click on the profile type's Field Access column
    • Ensure that the profile type's Field-Level Security is set to Visible,
      • if possible, uncheck “Read-Only 
        • if you're unable to uncheck read-only, you can leave it that way.

******If you do not perform Step #1 above, Kixie will log calls as tasks with no type, and dispositions will log as mere notes.******  

 

2. Setup Call Activity Logging for Leads

  • Click the Setup icon for your Salesforce
  • Search for Field Accessibility, and click on it
  • Scroll down the list and click on Lead
  • Click on View By Fields
  • Choose Mobile from the drop-down
  • Now do the next step for each profile type that uses Kixie...
    • Click on the profile type's Field Access column
    • Ensure that the profile type's Field-Level Security is set to Visible,
      • if possible, uncheck “Read-Only 
        • if you're unable to uncheck read-only, you can leave it that way.

3. Setup Call Activity Logging for Contacts

  • Click the Setup icon for your Salesforce
  • Search for Field Accessibility, and click on it
  • Scroll down the list and click on Contact
  • Click on View By Fields
  • Choose Mobile from the drop-down
  • Now do the next step for each profile type that uses Kixie...
    • Click on the profile type's Field Access column
    • Ensure that the profile type's Field-Level Security is set to Visible,
      • if possible, uncheck “Read-Only 
        • if you're unable to uncheck read-only, you can leave it that way. 

4. Setup Call Dispositions (Outcomes) Logging

 

5. Setup SMS Logging

 

6. Optional but Recommended: Setup Salesforce Workflow Rules to automatically send Salesforce emails when dispositions are logged, or automatically send Kixie texts and Kixie calls when leads are created.
