For Kixie to work with your Salesforce, make sure you have at least the Salesforce Professional edition with API integration, otherwise Kixie's integration with Salesforce will not work.
In the admin account of your Salesforce, follow these instructions to enable Kixie to automatically log completed tasks (type: call) in Salesforce.
1. Set up type for call activity logging for activities
- Setup->Security Controls->Field Accessibility->Task
- View By Fields - select "Call" Type from the drop-down
- Click into all applicable user types (use “Standard User” by default) and ensure their Field-Level Security is set to “Visible”, and “Read-Only” is unchecked
- If you're not unable to uncheck read-only, then you're already good to go, and can skip to step #2
2. Set up type for call activity logging for leads
- Setup->Security Controls->Field Accessibility->Lead
- View By Fields - select Mobile from the drop-down
- Click into all applicable user types (use “Standard User” by default) and ensure their Field-Level Security is set to “Visible”, and “Read-Only” is unchecked
3. Set up type for call activity logging for contacts
- Setup->Security Controls->Field Accessibility->Contact
- View By Fields - select Mobile from the drop-down
- Click into all applicable user types (use “Standard User” by default) and ensure their Field-Level Security is set to “Visible”, and “Read-Only” is unchecked
******If you CANNOT do the above due to your version of Salesforce, we will log the call as a task with no type.******
4. Setup Call Dispositions (Outcomes) Logging
6. Optional but Recommended: Setup Salesforce Workflow Rules to automatically send Salesforce emails when dispositions are logged, or automatically send Kixie texts and Kixie calls when leads are created.
