Voicemail Drop

Voicemail Drop is a powerful feature of Kixie's Professional Plan that allows you to leave pre-recorded voicemails with one click. You will not have to listen to the voicemail greeting and wait for the "beep" anymore. This will save you time and energy, and ensure that you leave the perfect voicemail to your prospects. On average, our stats show that Voicemail Drop saves 1 minute per call, which equals roughly 1 hour per day saved! (Average sales person makes 60 calls per day)

AI Voicemail Drop works through A.I. Powered Smart Beep Detection by dropping the voicemail before the beep - meaning that our platform actively listens to the beep played after a person's voicemail message. AI Smart Beep Detection is not perfect and there is no guarantee that the voicemail will drop (since not all voicemail boxes have a "beep"), however, if you follow the appropriate steps Voicemail Drop will function as expected all or most of the time and is the fastest method to get through calls.

Question: Can I drop the voicemail I've created after I hear the beep with Smart-Automated Voicemail Drop?

  • No, the voicemail drop feature works best when used at the beginning of the caller voicemail message.

Question: Can I drop the voicemail while the call is ringing?

  • No, the voicemail drop feature works best when used at the beginning of the caller voicemail message.

Question: Does it make sense for me to use Voicemail Drop?

  • If you find that you are leaving the same voicemail messages over and over to customers (e.g. "Hey, please call me back when you get the chance at..."), then you would benefit from Voicemail Drop.

Question: How can I customize the order of my voicemail drop list in Kixie PowerCall Dialer?

  • By default the voicemail drop list orders alphabetically, simply append numbers to the front of your VM drop title in the  Kixie.com dashboard.

Setting up Voicemail Drop is quick and easy, just follow these steps:

  1. Log in to Kixie.com
  2. Go to "My Profile"
  3. Go to the "VM Drop" tab on the right
  4. Upload an existing mp3  (192kbps or less recommended size) or record a new voicemail drop file by clicking "record now"
  5. Refresh your dialer (refresh button in upper right of Kixie PowerCall)

Using the Voicemail Drop feature is just as simple as setting it up. Check out this video:

The step-by-step version is as follows:

  1. With your Kixie PowerCall dialer open and updated, initiate your call.
  2. Listen for the customer's voicemail greeting to begin playing.
  3. Select the "Choose your option" menu under "VM Drop/Hangup".
  4. Select the desired voicemail drop file. (Please note: if you do not see your VM Drop file, please refresh/reload your Kixie PowerCall dialer).
  5. Kixie will automatically hang up the call while listening for the beep to drop your voicemail--saving you time and allowing you to move on to your next lead!

Remember: Timing is everything. Drop the voicemail correctly based on your Voicemail Drop option.

Question: Why aren't my voicemail messages getting left?

  • If there is no voicemail message getting left:
    • You are dropping the voicemail when Kixie is still dialing or you are dropping the voicemail too quickly after the voicemail answers.
    • Some voicemail boxes have strict timing requirements, or don't have a detectable beep. In these relatively rare cases, the voicemail could not be dropped in. Nevertheless, the customer will always see a missed call from you.

Question: Why is there a long silence before my voicemail message starts playing?

  • You are dropping the voicemail either too close to or after the "beep"

There are three different types of Voicemail Drop:

  1. "Beep" – This is the default type of VM Drop, and is the type referenced in all of the sections above
  2. "Silence" – Kixie will wait until it detects silence on the other end of the line before it drops the voicemail. This is ideal for situations where you are calling numbers that don't have a standard "beep" at the end of their voicemail greeting.
  3. "Manual" – a.k.a. Personalized Voicemail Drop, drops the voicemail as soon as you select it from the dropdown menu.
    • in this case you drop the voicemail after the beep. A sales rep would wait for the voicemail beep, say "Hey John" and then drop the voicemail. This allows your users to personalize the voicemail and offer a more customized experience. This method is slower since you have to listen through the voicemail message, but ideal for use cases that benefit from a more personal touch.

You can reorder your voicemail drop list by appending numbers or letters to the beginning of a Voicemail Drop title. Here's an example of doing this.
