Follow up automatically, without adding to your reps' day. The Follow-Up AI Agent in the Kixie AI Dashboard calls a contact back after a rep marks a disposition you choose, says up front that it's an AI assistant and books a time with your rep. You see who was dialed, who was reached and what happened, and you can stop every agent with one click.
Where to find it: in the Kixie AI Dashboard, click AI Agents in the left sidebar.
Beta. AI Agents are not available on all accounts. Kixie turns them on per business. When they're on, managers and admins see AI Agents in the sidebar. If you don't, contact your Kixie account manager.
What you get
- Follow-up that runs itself. A disposition your reps already use starts a follow-up. The agent calls within the calling window you set, tries again on your schedule and books a time with your rep.
- Compliance built in. The agent calls from its own number, always says it's an AI assistant and offers an opt-out before anything else. It can't go live until a manager records a consent attestation.
- Results. Counts of contacts triggered, dialed, reached and scheduled; how each follow-up ended; and a row for every contact the agent worked.
- Trigger log and Metrics. Every event that started the agent and how it's performing over time.
- An emergency stop. Stop all AI Agents ends every call in progress and stops all dialing for your business.

1. Create your Follow-Up AI Agent
- Click AI Agents in the left sidebar.
- Click + New agent.
- On the Configuration tab, click Create agent.
- A webhook URL appears. Copy it now and send it to Kixie support. It's shown only once.
Good to know: new agents start paused, so nothing dials while you set them up. The dot next to each agent's name shows whether it's Live or Paused. If you lose the webhook URL, click Rotate webhook URL on the Configuration tab to get a new one, and send that to support instead.
2. Decide what it says and when it calls
- Open the agent, click Configuration, then Edit configuration.
- Name the agent. Then enter your business display name (how the agent refers to your business in conversation) and your registered legal name (said once, in the opening disclosure).
- Under Fires on disposition, pick the call outcome that starts a follow-up.
- Pick the voice. Selecting one plays a short sample.
- Write the opening, scheduling and closing messages. Click a token to insert details such as the contact's first name, the rep's name or a CRM field.
- Set the timing: how long after the disposition the first call goes out, the most attempts to make, the wait between attempts, and the hours and days the agent may call, in the contact's local time.
- Choose which CRM gets the rep's task and the logged call, or leave it on Auto.
- Click Save configuration.
Fixed for compliance and quality: the agent always calls from its own number, always says it's an AI assistant and asks one thing: talk now or schedule a time. With voicemail detection on, it hangs up on answering machines and leaves no message. If the contact calls the agent's number back, the follow-up stops and the call goes to the rep.
3. Give it its own number
- On the Configuration tab, find Agent number.
- Pick a number from the list. Only numbers that nothing else on your account uses are shown.
4. Record the consent attestation
- On the Configuration tab, find Consent attestation.
- Type your full name and click I attest.
The attestation shows who attested and when. If you change the disposition that starts the agent, you'll need to attest again. Only a manager signed in to your own business can record it.
5. Take it live
The agent can go live once all four are in place:
- The configuration is saved.
- The agent has its own number.
- The consent attestation shows Valid.
- Kixie support has connected the webhook URL you sent them.
When it's live, the dot next to its name shows Live. If everything is in place and it still shows Paused, contact support@kixie.com.
6. See what every Follow-Up achieved
- Open the agent and stay on the Results tab.
- Set the date range.
- Read the counts: triggered, dialed, reached a human, scheduled, in flight (still in progress) and inbound calls.
- Read how follow-ups ended, such as scheduled, transferred to rep, callback requested or opted out.
- Scroll to the table for one row per contact, with the rep, disposition, status, outcome, next call and number of attempts.
Click Trigger log for every event that started the agent, or the Metrics tab for performance over a date range.
7. Rename, clone or delete an agent
- In AI Agents, open the actions menu next to the agent's name.
- Choose Rename, Clone or Delete.
Before you delete: deleting is permanent. It removes every contact in the agent, with all their follow-ups, calls, transcripts and outcomes, and its phone number stops answering as an agent.
8. Stop every agent at once
- In AI Agents, click Stop all AI Agents at the top right.
- Confirm.
Calls in progress end, nothing dials and calls to agent numbers are refused. Only Kixie can turn the agents back on once the reason for stopping is sorted out. Contact support@kixie.com when you're ready.
9. Quick tips
- Start with one disposition, such as the one your reps use when they couldn't connect, and watch Results for a week before adding more.
- Keep the opening message short. The disclosure plays first, so get straight to the point: talk now or pick a time.
- Set the calling hours to your contacts' business hours in their local time.
- Clone an agent that works to try a different message without touching the original.
10. Troubleshooting
I don't see AI Agents in the sidebar. AI Agents are in beta and turned on per business. Contact your Kixie account manager.
The Configuration tab says the agent isn't enabled for my business. AI Agents haven't been turned on for your business yet. Contact your Kixie account manager.
I can't edit the configuration. Configuration is for managers and admins. Ask an admin for access.
The agent isn't dialing. Check the four steps under Take it live. If someone used Stop all AI Agents, contact Kixie support to turn agents back on.
Fires on disposition is empty. Your business has no dispositions set up yet. Add them in the Kixie dashboard at app.kixie.com first.
